Translation of "Betelehemu"
(Olatunji, Via) - arr. Wendall Whalum

We are glad that we have a Father to trust.
We are glad that we have a Father to rely upon
Where was Jesus born?
Where was He born?
Bethlehem, the city of wonder.
That is where the Father was born for sure.
Praise, praise, praise be to Him.
We thank thee, we thank Thee, we thank Thee for this day,
Gracious Father.
Praise, praise, praise be to Thee,
Merciful Father.

Welcome To My World...

Hold on tight folks....

A sign next to the interstate in Baton Rouge...No seriously, it's a real sign.
Baton Rouge has it's first Professional Women's Tackle Football League Franchise,
the Baton Rouge Wildcats. I had no idea there were enough lesbians in
Baton Rouge to support an entire football team.
My hometown is not only home to all those other exciting things,
there's also this nuclear power facility, River Bend, where my father used to work.

There's also the ExxonMobil Chemical Plant.

This is a photograph of Scotlandville Terrace. I went to Scotlandville Middle school, and it was sort of a scandal, because I was the first one in my entire family to go to a public school.

Here, we see the oil refinery that was adjacent to the public school.

In a more desirable part of town we have the old state capitol building. This was a French Castle that was disassembled and sent across the Atlantic and was rebuilt on this spot more than 300 years ago.

Above is a picture of the high school i went to.
Below, we see Oak Alley Plantation, a major tourist attraction in Baton Rouge.

Below we have a picture of the interior of the mega church I attended as a child.
Bethany World Prayer Center. The people there used to have fits of holy fever and speak in tongues. It was fabulous, it was like live theater every sunday morning.

After I graduated high school, I went to college, in 1998. I majored in FUN. I dropped out in 1999. Below is a picture of the LSU Student Union
Here's an aerial shot of Tiger Stadium. My father played LSU football in the sixties, and me and him and my brother had the good fortune to attend the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans in the Super Dome, where they won the National Championship in 2003. It was alot of fun.

After I dropped out of college, i moved to New Orleans to sort of party and find myself.

This is St. Louis Cathedral, in Jackson Square, adjacent to the Cabildo in the New Orleans French Quarter.

Now we see a little bit of Mardi Gras....Below is a picture of the Queen of the Krewe Of Apollo Bal Masque...

She's really a dude.

This is the king of the Krewe, and he's really a dude.

This is a typical New Orleans jazz band. When you walk through the winding
streets of the French Quarter, the doors to the numerous drinking establishments
are open to the street, and the sound of live jazz spills onto the sidewalk.

This is a friend of mine, Joe, and I forget the meaning of this costume, but he thought it was fierce, and there was an element of poetry behind it, but regardless, it looks like vegas drag.

This is my friend Floyd LeBlanc. He spent crazy money on this costume,
and wore it for eight minutes.
This is an amazing book about New Orleans. The author of this book
actual passed away before he could write anything else.

While at Mardi Gras in the street, I met a man at Mardi Gras who liked me alot, and had plenty of money, and moved me to Miami...
What was most interesting about my exboyfriend, was that he owned a boat. The boat he owned in particular, (pictured below),

He bought the boat used, and the man in the picture below is the former owner.

Does anyone know he the man in the middle is?
Papa Doc, The late dictator of Haiti.
By now, you must be wondering where he got all his money from. Anyone ever heard of Solgar Vitamin Company? Well, it was his company until he sold it several years ago. At the time of its sale, his products were being distributed in forty countries.

As you can imagine, the glamorous lifestyle in South Beach came along with...

pills of a different sort. We're not talking about vitamins here. I developed quite a drug problem while with my exboyfriend, and luckily, after we split up, I experienced a spiritual awakening, at a new age spirituality center in Miami, called Unity On The Bay.
There, I was exposed to Kabbalah. Below is picture of the tree of life.
Along with my new found spirituality, I also found a really fun group of friends. I joined the Miami Gay Men's Chorus.

Being off of drugs, and making new friends, I decided to do something with myself, and i went to beauty school, and became a hairdresser.

I also became really close friends with one of my neighbors....
Are you ready for this.....

The Latino Guy is named Jorge Velez, and was my neighbor across the hall from me.
Thats right, my neighbor was a porn star. "Can I borrow a cup of sugar?"

Above is a map of miami, and below is a picture of the sunsetting over Biscayne Bay.
I became bored in Miami, and decided that maybe it was time for me to move on, I decided to "be a part of it" and move to New York City.
It didn't take me long to make a new group of friends, I'm currently a member of the
New York City Gay Men's Chorus.
Every year we perform at Carnegie Hall for our Holiday Concert.
Below is a picture of our group on stage at Carnegie Hall, 215 Members.

By the way, our Holiday Concert will be TONIGHT, Dec 14, at 8PM
This is the interior of Carnegie Hall.
Among the numerous other interesting things that the Chorus has brought into my life, there is one more that I'm Sure you'll Love to hear about.

Each year, the chorus Elects a Queen. The queen gets to ride in the Gay Pride Parade.

Guess who ran for queen this year....

The Competition got really ugly...

And I mean REALLY UGLY!!!

There's a picture of me with another Porn Star, also an old neighbor of mine from South Beach at a NYC Chorus Function. Some groups have bake sales...we have porn sales.

Our Porn sale is called:
As you can imagine, it's a pretty big fundraiser for the chorus. This year we raised over $6000.

These are the people that were running aginst me for Queen.

And this is the Bitch that Beat me.

She's a Fucking Cow.
